Could This Be Ma??

Hi Family,

I think I found Ma's birth certificate.  I am still not sure if she was called "Vicky" but the dates and her mother's name (Mary Raby) seem to match. It says she was born on March 18, 1886, but registered on April 17, 1886.

Please provide some feedback one way or the other.

New Birth Certificate??

Hi Family,

I found a birth certificate, but I am unsure if it is a family member.  Does anyone know if Ma was called Vicky?? And does anyone know if her middle name was Emmaline??  The birth certificate shown below shows a mother named Vicky Emmaline Mowatt giving birth to a Lillithe Agatha on October 3, 1903.  Oddly enough Aunt Lillian was born on October 3, 1903, now I am not so sure.  Any insights would be helpful.

Til next time,

Cousin Dina

  • Ma left Lillian in Panama with her sister, Helen Mowatt, who died not long after she left Panama with Uncles Hector and George in 1919

Scarborough - Pa's brother

Hi family me again.

This past weekend Ancestry.com offered a free weekend, so naturally I took advantage.

Good news is I found Scarborough - Pa's brother he lived at 46 Dakota Street as of 1930.

I have attached a copy of the 1920 census which shows him living at 16 Oregon Street with his wife, Esther and her daughter Ellen.    It also shows that he came into the country in 1909 a full 10 years before Ma and Pa. Check it out. See lines 64, 65, & 66.  If you click on the picture it will enlarge to see it better when done hit the back arrow at the top.

Birth certificates

Hi family,

It is Tuesday evening and I am excited for tomorrow; I am going to the Mormon library to look up Ma, Aunt Lillian's birth certificate.  They supposedly have it on microfiche, I just have to order it from their big facility in Salt Lake City.  I find it interesting that they are keeping a record of all families in the world.  I will let you know what happens.

1930 CENSUS - ORMOND STREET

Hi family,

I am attaching the 1930 census for the Quamina household on Ormond Street.  On it you will see Pa, Ma and all the children in the house at the time.

I was surprised to know that Aunt May's real name is Mary or was that a typo(write-o)? My understanding was that Pa's name was Benjamin, but here it says Wilfred, Sr.
